Our gas course is aimed at those who wish to undertake approved training prior to seeking a career in the gas industry. Successful completion of the course will enable you to qualify for the ACS assessments, which are required to become Gas Safe registered. In order to complete the on the job aspects of the course, you need to obtain a work placement with a Gas Safe registered business that is willing to provide an extended period of the company’s ‘in house’ gas training and organisational support prior to taking the ACS assessment.

Gas Course FAQ

If you would like to work as a domestic gas installer then you must hold Domestic Gas Safety CCN1 Qualification, plus certification for the appliances you have worked on.

Gas Safe Register membership is a legal requirement for carrying out any gas work in the UK.

CCN1 Gas Course is aimed at Category 3 operatives who have little or no prior experience in the plumbing and gas industry. Trainees who lack gas training and experience will need to hold a recognised qualification in the mechanical services engineering sector (e.g. plumbing) or successful interview with a member of the Building Services Team.

The key thing about any course or qualification is to learn the skills that are required to fulfil your job role in the future. This is exactly what our CCN1 gas course will provide.

Assessment will consist of.

  • 6 Multiple choice exam papers.
  • 6 Practical assessments within the workshop environment.

Additionally a portfolio of practical evidence must be completed whilst in employment or work placement with a registered Gas Safe Engineer.

Expected attendance on programme is one day per week at college and a minimum of one day per week with a Gas Safe Engineer.
