About the course
This course includes vocational units which are specific to the Computing, IT and Media Sectors and are designed to give you the basic knowledge of the various areas including programming , software applications and media. Your studies will help you develop your self-confidence and wider knowledge of the IT sector ready for your academic progression to Level study in Computing, IT and Media.
You do not need any formal qualifications, all applicants will be interviewed and assessed to ensure that this is the appropriate course for them.
The vocational diploma is assessed via coursework where you will create a portfolio of evidence. Maths and English will be assessed via an exam either for Functional Skills or GCSE
Careers & Progression
On successful completion of this course you may progress to a Level 1 Diploma in Computing, Digital Media or Gaming. When you have completed your studies other courses that are available include an Apprenticeship or a Level 2 Diploma Computing, Digital Media or Gaming.

There are plenty of activities and visits to take part in that will help you achieve your ambitions. Planned trips and visits to local and national companies and sites enriches the teaching programme to develop a deeper appreciation and understand of the links between the skills, knowledge and workplace behaviours needed in a successful career in the Computing and IT sector.
