About the course

If you’re interested in a career in counselling that is as rewarding as it is insightful, counselling skills is a fantastic place to begin your journey. On this short intensive course you will cover the basics of counselling theory, how to establish boundaries, identify the core person-centred conditions and learn practical counselling skills. Through the course you will get to refine the counselling skills, such as reflecting and paraphrasing, and body language through interactive roleplays. Additionally, you will begin to consider the influence of the key theories of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.

This is an excellent course where the skills can be applied in a wide range of professions and occupations, including teaching, social work, nursing, childcare and HR work. Through weekly tasks and self-reflection you will quickly develop the necessary skills to be able to apply them in any of these roles.
