About the course
If you are keen to begin training for a career in Gym Instruction, or you want to enhance your qualifications in fitness and health, then this is the ideal intermediate level course for you. The course requires your physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. Throughout the qualification you will learn specifics in anatomy and physiology for exercise and learn how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity. You will also gain experience and skills in health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment. This course is delivered on site with a practical assessment required to be completed at Burnley College. As a learner, you can work at your own pace to complete your portfolio and our award winning tutors will be on hand to help you every step of the way. This course will involve a mixture of self study and class learning in state of art facilities.
Learners must have some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights. The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary. There is also an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learner should have basic skills in communication.
You will be continuously assessed by your online instructor and there will be a practical examination which will be held at Burnley College.
Careers & Progression
On successful completion of this course you may progress to a Level 3 Personal Training qualification or other skills based courses within the Sports sector. Careers that this course may lead to include self-employed Fitness Trainer or a range of roles in the Sports industry.
