About the course
This course enables you to develop their subject expertise by engaging creatively and critically with a range of texts. Using literary and linguistic concepts and methods, you will analyse a range of texts spanning varying modes and genres, gaining insight into the nature of different discourses and ideas about creativity. You will study a range of poetry, prose and drama in addition to developing your own writing skills for different audiences and purposes in a variety of styles. You will also study spoken language in detail and appraise the written and spoken word. On this course you will develop skills as a producer and interpreter of language by creating texts and critically reflecting on their own processes of production.

At least six GCSEs at grade 5 or above in a good range of subjects, including both English and Mathematics. Additional entry requirements for this course are: A minimum of a grade 5 and 6 in GCSE English Language and English Literature.
This course is assessed in the following way: 20% coursework 80% external examination
Careers & Progression
On successful completion of this course you may decide to progress onto an Apprenticeship or a Higher/Degree Apprenticeship. You will also have the opportunity to progress onto Degree courses. Careers that this course may lead to include Journalist, Teacher, Lawyer, Business.
