About the course
The course will cover the following subjects and topics - Dealing with accidents and emergencies (first aid) - Evaluating and developing own practice in Instructing exercise and fitness - Instructing, observing and assisting gym based activitiesMotivating and supporting clients to develop and maintain fitness - Planning and preparing gym based activities with clients - Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise Principles of exercise, fitness and health - Promote health, safety and welfare in active leisure and recreation - Work with clients to help them adhere to exercise and physical activity - Reflect on and develop own practice in providing exercise and physical activity - Plan and prepare gym-based exercise - Instruct and supervise gym-based exercise
A minimum of two GCSEs at Grade 5 or above. It is favourable to have a keen interest in exercise and fitness. Applicants must be hardworking, reliable and motivated. As part of the interview process, Apprentices will undertake a BKSB assessment in English, Mathematics and ICT. Applicants who do not meet the exact entry requirements but hold relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants who do not meet the exact entry requirements may also be considered.
You will be assessed via observations within the work place, professional discussion, witness testimonies, products of work, projects, assignments, presentations, questionnaires, reflective accounts and personal statements.
